What Wikipedia Can't Tell You About Natural Resources in Bangladesh?

 What is Natural Resources?

Let’s define what is a natural resource, once upon a time, there was an unpleasant oily liquid around us. We would never know until it converts as usable fuel oil. Extracted liquid from the soil and then discovered as usable fuel oils. It is called Natural Resources. Natural Gas formed of natural resources is the best of them using many industries in Bangladesh.

 Discovered it First Time.

Before the liberation war, the natural gas field in Bangladesh first discovered in 1955. Its ranks are 92, spanning 148,460 square kilometers (57,320 sq mi). Eight most populous countries in the world with 162 million Peoples. West and north and east side surrounded by Indian border and Myanmar to the southeastern side and the other part is the Bay of Bengal. The small area of this country has a number of mineral resources such as natural gas, oil, coal, hard rock, limestone, white clay, glass sand, and mineral sand notable. 

Using out of them as natural resources.

Besides this it has other natural resources to be noted below:

It’s a major source of energy for Bangladesh. It is contributing more than 70% of commercial energy. Bangladesh is the 7th largest natural gas producer in Asia with 26 gas fields. They are producing about 2700 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. 

 

 

 

Water Resources:

Surface water, groundwater, and rainwater are the main sources of water in Bangladesh.Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna river system discharges a huge amount of surface water and some parts of that water enter into the ground to form groundwater. In monsoon season there are 3 months with heavy rainfall is also contributed to some water as sources of rainwater. The natural water resources system is derived from an interlinked system of rivers, estuaries, canals, khals, laks, ponds etc.

So check at a glance what major use of the sources water used is

  • Fisheries: More than 2.8 million tons of fisheries produced in the rural areas beside the riverside and some of haors, beel, ponds, and majority is the sea.
  • Water Transportation: The river network of Bangladesh as the most important transport artery and even cheaper. Including unclassified routes, the total length of its waterway (700 rivers) is about 13,00km. 8,433 km is navigable by larger vessels in the rainy season. In the dry season, 4,800 km is navigable. Some of the merchant vessel (ferry) is used as transporting passengers, road transports and heavy-duty cargo carriers. Rest is launch, wooden boat; speed boat is available transporters in this water.
  • Agricultural Water: It has a tropical monsoon climate with two prominent seasons; dry season (Nov-May) and wet season (June-October). About 54% of the lands are used for crop production. The irrigation system is used with a huge amount of water in the dry season for producing 25.00 million tons to feed her 135 million Peoples.


Manpower:

During the last two decades, the Bangladesh economy dramatically improved in industrial growth. ready-made Garment sectors are the best of them which is contributed to a significant role. Its share of total export 82.5 percent economical contribution in 2016. More than 55% of female workers are working in these garments sectors. Every year by exporting skilled/semi-skilled/non-skilled  workers also earn more than 34.4% remittances

 

Wood:
Forest cover about 16 percent of the total area of the country. Wood is a renewable resource that is used in several ways like a traditional source of fuel, construction, furniture, and paper pulp are all timbers and products produces or derived from them are timber products.
